A plan for every piece

Art needs its own plan

Moves For Less moves art. We pack, load, and deliver paintings, framed prints, mirrors, sculpture, wall hangings, and glass pieces for home moves and single-item moves. Art is not like other household items. Glass cracks under pressure. Canvas punctures. Frames chip at the corners. A plan for each piece keeps it from ending up in a box with the kitchen pans. Tell us the size, weight, and material of large pieces when you request an estimate, since a 6 foot canvas and a 200 pound stone sculpture need very different handling. Art moving can be added to any residential or commercial move, or booked on its own.

Framed art and mirrors

Corners are protected and glass is kept from flexing. Framed pieces travel upright, never flat under other items.

Canvas

Unframed canvas cannot touch anything on its face. It gets a barrier over the painted surface and a firm backing behind it.

Sculpture

Sculpture is padded and blocked so it cannot shift in the truck. Heavy pieces may need more than 2 movers.

Should I take art off the walls before the movers come?

You can leave it up. Our movers take art down as part of the job. If you prefer to take it down yourself, stack framed pieces upright and never flat.

Can you move a single painting?

Yes. Art moving can be booked for one piece or a whole collection.

How do you move large mirrors?

Large mirrors are wrapped with corner protection and travel upright. Tell us the size so we plan the right space in the truck.

Can you store art between homes?

Yes. Ask about our storage services if the new home is not ready for delivery.

Do you hang art at the new home?

Let us know during the estimate what you want placed. We confirm what our movers can do in your home before the estimate is final.

How should I get my art ready?

Take a photo of each piece and note any chips or wear that already exist. Remove picture lights and hooks. Tell us about frames with loose glass. Keep receipts or appraisals for high-value pieces where you can find them after the move.

Is my art covered during the move?

Every move with Moves For Less includes free insurance and transit coverage. Share a list of high-value pieces before the move so we can plan how each one is loaded.
